Gift Card Process
Customer Pays with a Gift Card
It's a three part process. Failure to do all three parts will cause a register shortage.
1. Check the available card balance using the gift card machine (not the credit card machine):
- Menu (F3)
- INQUIRE (F3)
- Clerk ID (1)
- Swipe card to check balance. Assuming balance OK:
2. Subtract the money from the gift card using the gift card machine (not the credit card machine):
- Redeem (F2)
- Clerk ID (1)
- Swipe card and enter amount to deducted
- A receipt will print, keep it for the SCR. Print another if the customer wants one.
3. Settle the transaction to [Gift Card] on the POS system using cash or credit card.
Customer
Buys a Gift Card
It's a two part process. Must do both!
1. Ring the Gift Card on the POS system (under Supplemental/Retail).
2. Add the value to the gift card sing the gift card machine (not the credit card machine):
- Menu (F3)
- Issue (F1)
- Clerk ID (1)
- Follow the other prompts to add money to the card.
